Neutrons propelled to Earth by cosmic rays from space are helping scientists in more than 25 countries to measure water in soil and help farmers save water and adapt to climate change.

The IAEA has assisted more than 120 countries in building competence in radiation protection through its postgraduate courses on radiation protection and radiation source safety, the 100th of which recently concluded in Malaysia.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and an association of leading national waste management organizations have pledged to strengthen cooperation and coordination on the development of safe, effective and secure solutions for the disposal of high level radioactive waste (HLW) and spent nuclear fuel declared as waste.
